Tanjong Katong Girl’s School, also called the Premier School of the East, is an all-girls school in Singapore. Tanjong Katong Girl’s School was originally opened in January 1953 with only seven classes, two hundred fifty-five students, and a teaching staff of only ten. It was the first English secondary school set up by the Singapore government after WWII. By 1960, enrollment in the school had increased to about 1200. Originally built to serve the East West Line, Paya Lebar MRT Station was built over twenty years ago; in November 1989. In April 2010, the station expanded to also serve the Circle Line. This safety feature prevents commuters from fallen onto the MRT tracks was added to the station in January 2011. The underground section was built later, so this feature was included in the original construction. To improve air ventilation on the Paya Lebar MRT Station’s platforms, high volume, and low speed fans were added in July of2012.
